We tend to judge ourselves by our intentions, while the world judges us by our actions. It’s easy to feel good about ourselves based on good intentions, even if we never act on the intentions. By doing so, we cover over our incongruity between how we perceive our self, and how we show up with others.
As the old adage goes, “Intentions count for very little, if they are not backed up by actions.” It’s not enough to have good intentions. You must back them up with action.
